“Donations to our fiscally sponsored projects allow them to respond to critical needs in our community. Thanks to the support of many donors, Community Initiatives serves inspired leaders as they build new programs to benefit us all.”

COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
Media Enterprise Alliance

The Media Enterprise Alliance will enable inner-city public high school students in Oakland to study media, and video production in particular, with an idea toward acquiring employable technical/artistic skills.

The program will be project-based with the students working for real-world clients. Each project will be taught by professional artist/mentors in the fields of video production, graphic/web design, and photography. These high school students will also be learning how to set up and run a small business, as well as developing the necessary criteria for college admission and job placement.
