Parent Advisory Council

The Parent Advisory Council (PAC) was established by the San Francisco Board of Education as a formal mechanism for parents to participate in shaping education policy, by building a partnership for student achievement between parents, the Board of Education, and school district staff.

The PAC works with our community partners to actively reach out and engage families in district policy discussions, and to represent parent concerns to district leaders. The PAC also helps parents to participate in school-site and district-level governance, and to feel empowered as education policy advocates.

PAC members are appointed by the Board of Education, and themselves represent the cultural, language, socio-economic, and geographic diversity of the San Francisco Unified School District.
